Self-Care: Getting Some Sunshine

Today's Self-Care: I've moved my computer to the front yard and I'm working outside while enjoying the slightly cooler weather today. My 12-year-old son is also hanging out with me in the front yard, chatting with me, and playing on his tablet while I write.


I love being outside and enjoying the fresh air and the beautiful trees and plants in my front yard. It provides a really nice change of pace from working in my office. (Even though I love my office space because it's filled with all things meaningful and beautiful to me.)


I've got some of my favorite music playing and we're watching our dogs play in the front yard and giggling at how much fun they're having.


At this moment my heart is full. I'm at peace and life is good. I'm creating a memory I can treasure.


Sometimes my self-care is just like this: creating an atmosphere/moment where I feel happy and fulfilled. Getting sunshine as a form of self-care is a simple but effective strategy for elevating your mood and giving yourself much-needed nurturing.
